Kia, the South Korean automotive leader, has recently established itself as a leader in the electric SUV market. While its large EV9 model was voted ‘best car of the year 2024’ by the WCOTY jury (World Car Of The Year), the Seoul brand presents the EV3, more compact, packed with all kinds of options and supposedly capable of the same performance . . Will he live up to the expectations now weighing on him?
In terms of design, Kia has succeeded. The result is avant-garde and combines a dynamic aesthetic full of natural lines and modern geometry. The front of the car is decorated with a ‘tiger face’ ventilation grille, typical of the manufacturer, framed by the vertically aligned ‘star map’ lighting that underlines the imposing appearance. The silhouette of this smaller than average SUV is compact and futuristic. An appearance that is enhanced by the light colors, 9 in number, two of which are exclusive to the model: Tuscan brown and pastel green.

Inside we find large surfaces of comfortable and refined biomaterials, available in colors inspired by the natural elements of air, earth and water. The interior of the EV3 calls for relaxation both while driving and while charging, with its large digital panel that brings together only Kia AI, a generative AI that continuously makes progress in understanding sentences in context, a streaming service and everything the car’s touch controls. The physical space also adapts to the different wishes of the passengers, thanks to a sliding table and removable storage space.
