Preparations for the Bagotville Air Show are in full swing, with approximately three weeks to go before the event. About twenty employees who are part of the organization met on Tuesday to take stock.
Many of them use a model to think about the design of the site that will welcome many visitors on June 22 and 23. 000people, traffic is still an important topic”,”text ‘An air show where we expect about 150,000 people, traffic is always an important topic’}}”>At an air show where around 150,000 people are expected, traffic is always a major problem
underlines the vice president of operations of the Show, Maxime Renaud.
The entire coordination of the arrival and departure of aircraft is also a very important topic. Making sure it stays safe for everyone

To ensure the event ran smoothly, staff met with many stakeholders in the region, such as leaders of the Société de transport de Saguenay. A shuttle service will also be set up.
It is intended to coordinate all the different pieces of the puzzle that will be carried out during Saturday and Sunday

A show that calls for change
With the arrival of the F-35 expected within a few years, the show will likely be offered in its current form for the last time.
Obviously, it takes a lot of space to put on an air show. With the arrival of the F-35, the situation, both on the construction and safety sides, will change in the coming years. So it will be difficult to organize such a large-scale show in Bagotville
notes Major Jean-Philippe Gaudreault, the Bagotville Air Show event vice president.
Although striking civilian employees at the Bagotville base threatened to disrupt the air show last week if no progress was made in negotiations on their collective labor agreement, the organization expects everything, as well as good cooperation on their part.
From our point of view, we expect that there will be cooperation with the people who are striking. We are introducing the air show to the people of the region, of Saguenay, so we expect everyone to understand that it is a regional event that is family friendly.
says Nicolas Parent.
