His sneakers
Ah! What a smell emanates from this type of shoe during the warm season! If your feet are sweating, you know that it is not easy to eliminate these very disturbing odors. Try these little homemade tips that can be effective against the bacteria that cause bad odors:
Every morning, sprinkle your socks, preferably cotton, your shoes and your feet with baking soda (2 to 3 tablespoons). You can also use an anti-odor foot powder sold in pharmacies.
Before going to bed, take a foot bath consisting of lukewarm water and 60 ml of baking soda. Vinegar, lemon juice or black tea can be added to this bath. They all contain desiccants. After trying one of these products for a few days, you will see which foot bath is most effective for you.
His everyday shoes
Sprinkle the inside of the shoes with baking soda every night or use a tissue or cheesecloth to make small bags in which you place 2 to 3 spoons of baking soda, 2 to 3 spoons of baking powder and 6 spoons of starch corn. Put a bag in each shoe. Store the shoes in a plastic bag that you close at night and start fresh… completely deodorized in the early morning. The sachets can be reused for several weeks.
You can also leave the shoes outside. The sun also eliminates odors in smelly shoes.
Prepare a solution of half water/half white vinegar. Spray the inside of the shoes and let them dry completely before wearing them again.
Before going to bed, put 2 to 3 drops of clove essential oil or just a bar of soap in each shoe. These products eliminate bacteria while deodorizing shoes.
The insoles of shoes can be a source of bad odors. Replace them and any lingering odors will quickly disappear.
