World 2030: Laftit announces deployment of emergency plan for Fez upgrade

IWhen designing this action plan, it is necessary to opt for an innovative approach that covers the material, logistical and infrastructural aspects in accordance with FIFA specifications”, specified Laftit who chaired an extensive meeting dedicated to Morocco’s preparations for this competition, in the presence of the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa.

In this sense, he underlined the commitment of the Ministry of the Interior to provide all necessary means and resources to implement this “urgent action plan” and the optimal implementation of its provisions as soon as possible.

Along the same lines, the Minister noted that the aim is to design an action plan that will be translated into practice through a large number of congresses at local level.

He stressed the importance of the timing of this meeting, which provides an opportunity to deepen the reflection on the projects to be implemented (transport, accommodation, connectivity, sports infrastructure) and the challenges to be faced in each of the strategic areas, to exchange views on the measures to be taken to meet FIFA’s requirements.

Laftit announced the holding of periodic and regular meetings to monitor the implementation of this action plan, calling on the various stakeholders to fully commit to the implementation of this strategic project.

He recalled that this meeting, which is the first phase of a series of meetings in different regions of the Kingdom, comes two months after the organization of the 2030 World Cup in Rabat alongside Spain and Portugal.

He judged “imperative” to take stock of the actions of stakeholders at local level in coordination with the Ministry of the Interior and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
