After the A110 of his former employer Alpine, the Spanish driver is entitled to his own Aston Martin: a racing beast called the Valiant. This supercar, inspired by the legendary Le Mans race car “Muncher”, was born from a crush between the driver and the Valor. A twin-turbo V12 that convinced the champion because of the profound driving experience it offered.
Last April, the 42-year-old F1 driver announced the extension of his contract with the Aston Martin Cognizant F1 Team until 2026. A decisive element that made the team give in to the wishes of the two-time world champion (2006 and 2006): together they created an improved Valor, the Valiant. The new car is equipped with a V12 engine of 745 hp, compared to 715 for the Valor, and a modified six-speed manual gearbox. The muscular design of the body is aerodynamic and embodies the power of the car, while the sleek lines of the cabin make it easier for the driver to concentrate.
The big difference with the Valor is mainly in the weight: it weighs 25.5 kilos less. The entire body is made of carbon fiber with aerodynamics, which reduces the weight but increases the downforce. All materials are magnesium (including the rims), titanium and advanced 3D printing for key components, such as the subframe. Finally, the wheels are equipped with aero flanges with six holes to let the heat escape.
