The legacy of Jean Vuarnet, innovative and creative, goes beyond mountaineering. From 1957 onwards, Jean Vuarnet became a legend in the French Alps and the American mountains. Jean Vuarnet, a renowned athlete, alpine skier and 1960 Olympic gold medalist, pushed the boundaries of several alpine disciplines.
In particular, he invented a new technique for skiing, the so-called egg position or the “ Schuss », as well as a car-free ski area and the best eye protection at high altitude.
The values and spirit of the Vuarnet brand are deeply rooted in the sacred character of the mountain. The “Vuarnet style” emerged from the passion for the mountains.
In 2023, Vuarnet will join LVMH following its acquisition by Thélios, the Group’s eyewear entity.
